Purpose Statement (Why)
My purpose is to SUPPORT the Coach by efficiently and accurately changing over our production equipment from job to job.  This supports the Coach in our effort to create good parts on time for our customers so they will continually grow trust and confidence in me and my organization.  I do this because I know our reputation is our most valuable asset.  This creates more opportunity for both myself and Stone Plastics and therefore our success is based on how well I perform my primary functions.

Primary Functions (What)
• Support the Coach with product changeovers
• Support the Coach with preventative maintenance
• Backup the Coach role

What Success Looks Like (How)
The Support Team member helps the Coach change over from one job to another.  This includes, but is not limited to, staging molds; setting molds; changing materials; cleaning hoppers/dryers; setting up work stations/belts/robots/EOAT/punch stations/hot runner controllers.  The focus must always be on safety, accuracy, and efficiency, in that order.  It is imperative that the Support Team member does not bounce around in their work.  For that reason, the Support Team member must be very systematic with their work, following the Standard Work Instructions diligently to avoid missing important details.  While supporting a team, the Support Team member takes direction from the Coach in which they are supporting.  The Support Team member is responsible for setting it up correctly, and the Coach is responsible for running it correctly.

The Support Team member helps the Coach with preventative maintenance as scheduled.  This includes, but is not limited to, changing the dryer filters; cleaning out the water strainers; calibrating blenders; cleaning and changing the Motan filters; and cleaning the Motan dehumidifier filters.

*Once a Support Team member has demonstrated proficiency with performing a product changeover, they can then be considered to begin training to Support the Coach.  The qualified Support Team member must be trained and understand the Coach’s role in order to back up the Coach when the Coach is unavailable.  The qualified Support Team member must carry out the Coach’s top three primary functions: 1) Duplicate Molding Process; 2) Validate Good Parts; and 3) Ensure everyone in the team is following Standard Work Instructions and understands the importance of doing it right (See Coach position description for specific role responsibilities).  A Support Team member must be certified to back up the Coach prior to performing that role.
