Purpose Statement (Why)
My purpose is to SUPPORT the Line Leader by efficiently and accurately changing over our production equipment from job to job. This supports the Line Leader in our effort to create good parts on time for our customers so they will continually grow trust and confidence in me and my organization. I do this because I know our reputation is our most valuable asset.

Primary Functions (What)
  • Support the Line Leader with product changeovers
  • Support the Line Leader with preventative maintenance
  • Change molds
What Success Looks Like (How)
The Mold Setter helps the Line Leader change over from one job to another. This includes, but is not limited to, staging molds; setting molds; changing materials; cleaning hoppers/dryers; setting up work stations/belts/robots/EOAT/punch stations/hot runner controllers. The focus must always be on safety, accuracy, and efficiency, in that order. For that reason, the Mold Setter must be very systematic with their work, following the Standard Work Instructions diligently to avoid missing important details. While supporting a team, the Mold Setter takes direction from the Line Leader in which they are supporting. The Mold Setter is responsible for setting it up correctly, and the Line Leader is responsible for running it correctly.

The Mold Setter helps the Line Leader with preventative maintenance as scheduled. This includes, but is not limited to, changing the dryer filters; cleaning out the water strainers; calibrating blenders; cleaning and changing the Motan filters; and cleaning the Motan dehumidifier filters.
